TASK 3: Character Creation, Execution

I sketched three different splash art concepts and eventually chose the second one, as I felt its overall atmosphere and silhouette were move visually engaging and memorable.

After finalizing the sketch, I moved on to coloring, refining details, and adding a background to give the splash art more narrative depth. The environment was designed to support Kaya’s identity and help the viewer understand her connection to nature at first glance.

After consulting with Mr. Anas, he mentioned that the splash art already had a high level of completion, and suggested improving the perspective and adding stronger lighting effects to further enhance depth and visual hierarchy.

Final Output

REFLECTION

Kaya is a character who is deeply connected to nature. She is elegant, strong, and agile, and I wanted these qualities to be clearly communicated through her pose, movement, and overall composition. During the splash art stage, I spent a lot of time adjusting her posture, proportions, and flow of movement to make her feel light yet powerful. I also paid close attention to lighting and color choices to create a calm but magical atmosphere that matches her personality.

Through this process, I realized how important splash art is in defining a character’s first impression. It is not just about rendering details, but about storytelling, mood, and silhouette. This task helped me better understand how composition, lighting, and environment work together to elevate a character design. I am satisfied that the final outcome successfully showcases Kaya’s charm and strengthens her identity as a nature-aligned character.
